Position: Director of Loughborough Design School, UK. Closing Date: Friday 05 March 2010.
The School is an example of Loughborough University backing its strengths by bringing together its world leading research in Design and Ergonomics (over 50% of our research was rated as world leading in the 2008 RAE) into a new £25M building that will form the Loughborough Design Centre. As well as research the school will manage high quality undergraduate and postgraduate students on internationally respected programmes. The school has outstanding scores in National student surveys and its research has won awards including the Queen’s Anniversary Prize in 2008.
As an exceptional individual you will lead the recently formed Design School and become its first Director. You will have vision, a passion for design, an international research profile commensurate with the School’s standing and ambition, and a commitment to forming collaborative links between the University, industry, commerce and the public sector. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing a large group in a challenging learning and research environment.
